Ok, so I wrote this blog Wednesday but fought with crappy internet connections, so by now everyone has already blogged about it and you're getting lukewarm news from lovenati.com.  I'll be honest.  I don't really care.  I actually think it's charming.  I might make "lukewarm news" my bi-line.  I love day old leftovers.  Just put lovenati.com in the microwave and nuke it for a minute it'll feel hot and fresh in no time.

Pretty nice commercial, right?  Ashley Graham's a hottie, right?  Well, FOX and ABC think she's got too much cleavage.  Yeah, that happens when your tits are big.

According to Lane Bryant, ABC "restricted our airtime" and refused to air the spot during Dancing With the Stars, while Fox "demanded excessive re-edits and rebuffed it three times before relenting to air it during the final 10 minutes of American Idol, but only after we threatened to pull the ad buy." 

Meanwhile Victoria Secret models douse themselves in milk to a jungle beat.  Lane Bryant deleted their comments on the situation from their site, but before they did, AdWeek got the quote. 

"Does this smack of a double standard? Yep. It does to us, too," 

Fox news reported the the story:

Fox had asked Lane Bryant to flash less flesh..."We didn't treat them any differently than Victoria's Secret," a Fox spokesman said...If Lane Bryant had heeded Fox's suggestions, the spot would have shown the model's face -- and virtually nothing else.

Does anyone else remember the mysterious disapearance of the Lane Bryant Fashion show?  It was webcast till 2003 when it aired on televised with Roseanne Barr as Matron of Ceremonies in a cabaret setting complete with Moulin Rouge-style singers and dancers (Meryl Finger, the owner of the Glamazons did a fan dance in that show). They stopped airing or even producing the show after that. 10 years later, we're still fighting for 30 seconds of paid airtime.

lovenati's point is, that plus women need to be seen on TV, in movies, on the runway, on the Billboard charts, on MTV.  Not seeing them is impairing our judgment and perception of the world.
